
Softball To Make Up Rain Out Tuesday at Lipscomb

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Riding on the emotions of a walk-off win over No. 2 Florida on Sunday, the Mississippi State softball team (25-10) will take on Lipscomb (16-17) at 4 p.m. CT on Tuesday from Draper Diamond at Smith Stadium.
The game was previously scheduled for March 10, but was postponed due to inclement weather in the Nashville area.

LAST TIME OUT
State most recently dropped two of three games in its weekend Southeastern Conference this series vs. No. 2 Florida. Its win was capped by a five-run rally that led to a 5-3 walk-off win at home on Sunday. Sophomore Caroline Seitz provided the knockout blow with a two-out, three-run blast to left.
TEAM & PLAYER NOTES
· The Bulldogs have 13 come-from-behind wins in 2015 and 48 in the Vann Stuedeman era.
· MSU has seven walk-off wins this season.
· State is 20-3 this season against non-conference opponents.
· MSU is 25-5 this season when scoring three or more runs and 19-3 when scoring six or more. The Bulldogs are 14-0 when holding opponents to two or fewer runs.
· State is 5-6 against teams ranked in the top 25 at the time of competition this season.
· In the first NCAA RPI rankings of the 2015 season, announced Monday, March 23, MSU came in at No. 27 and is 5-6 vs. teams in the 19 this season.
· Starting on Friday, March 27, the Bulldogs started a string of 15-straight games against teams in the top 75 with seven of those coming against teams in the top 10 and four vs. the top two teams.
· Down to its final strike on three occasions, State mounted a seven-run rally with two outs on Friday, March 20, at Ole Miss to win 8-6. It marked the first time MSU overcame a five-run deficit to win since March 11, 2011 vs. Florida State.
· MSU is fifth in the Southeastern Conference in batting average (.330), second in doubles (61), second in hit by pitch (48) and third in stolen bases (65).
· Sophomore ace Alexis Silkwood ranks second in the SEC in strikeouts (151), first in wins (18), first in innings pitched (138.0) and second in appearances (27). She has 14 complete-game efforts this season and has struck out five or more in 15 games this season.
· Silkwood now has 31 career victories, ranking ninth in the MSU record books. She also has 318 career strikeouts, which ranks fifth in the MSU record books
· First-year catcher and sophomore Katie Anne Bailey leads the conference in runners caught stealing by with 10. Bailey ranks second in the SEC and third in the country in triples (6).
· Seitz leads MSU in doubles (10), home runs (9), RBIs (34), total bases (77) and is tied for first in hits (40). Her doubles are third-most in the SEC and her home runs are tied for 11th.
SERIES HISTORY
The Bulldogs and Bisons will meet for just the third time in the history of the two programs on Tuesday with MSU leading the all-time series 2-0. Most recently the two sides met on Feb. 17, 2013 in Starkville with State having won 4-3 in ten innings.
ON DECK FOR THE BULLDOGS
State will continue its four-game road stint this weekend with a three-game road set at Arkansas, starting Saturday, April 4 at 1 p.m. Games two and three on Sunday and Monday will both air nationally on the SEC Network.
