MSU Women's Golf Inks Florida State Champion

Starkville, Miss. – Mississippi State's signing class increased by one on Thursday when Bulldogs coach Ginger Brown-Lemm announced the addition of Athena Yang.
On Wednesday, Teri Doss signed her letter intent.
“This is our second top Floridian to sign in two years, and she is a very talented player,” Brown-Lemm said. “She is a very talented and seasoned competitor that will make an instant impact on our program. We are very excited about her unlimited potential. We are so excited to have her join the Bulldog Family.”
Yang hails from Winter Haven, Fla.
In 2015 she was an individual state qualifier for the fourth year in a row, where she finished tied for 13th out of a 96-player field. She also won Regional, and County Championship two seasons in a row.
In 2014 Yang won the Florida state championship.
Yang was the AJGA Champion at the Target Junior Championship, as well as a low medalist in the USGA Women's Four Ball Tournament.
She was Polk County High School girl's golfer of the year in 2013, where she also competed in the state championship as an individual.
Along with many golf achievements, Yang is a straight-A student with a 4.25 GPA. She was one out of 500 students to score a perfect 5 on the FCAT Writes her sophomore year.
