Starkville, Miss. – Under the tenure of coach Ginger Brown-Lemm, the Mississippi State women's golf team has added some high profile names to the squad. This year is no different, as Paducah, Ky., standout Teri Doss signed her letter of intent on Wednesday.
“Teri is a fierce competitor and a sports woman. She brings with her multiple championship and an incredible academic resume as well,” Brown-Lemm said. “Her spirit, love of team, and competition are what we look forward to continuing to add to our program.”
Doss was a long-term commitment to Mississippi State, even wearing Bulldog attire during her junior year at the Florence Paxton Memorial Ladies Golf Tournament, an event she won two years in a row.
In 2015 she was the Kentucky High School champion, as well as the Coach's Player of the Year.
Doss has participated in four PGA Jr. Series national events, placing second twice. She also has competed in 11 AGJA events where she holds four Top 5 finishes. Her top two finishes came at TPC Southwind, where she came in second place, and at Owensboro, where she finished third.
The senior has played on the high school varsity golf team for six years, and she has made the state championship every year since the seventh grade.
She was also the recipient of the AJGA All-American Scholar award, where winning is based on ACT score, AP subject test score, GPA, as well as school leadership, also having to finish Top 5 in the AJGA Open and Invitational events to apply for the award.
Along with being a great golfer, she is also an exceptional student in the classroom. Doss has a 4.34 GPA and is ranked first in her senior class of 188 students. She also score a 34 of the ACT.
