McBride Continues Dominance, Advanes To Finals With Top Time
June 12, 2014 | Track & Field
In the semifinals of the 800m run at Oregon's Hayward Field, the sophomore from Windsor, Ontario, ran a top time of 1:48.09 to advance to Friday's finals.
This year's indoor champion and SEC winner joins three other conference rivals in the finals — Arkansas' Patrick Rono, Kentucky's Keffri Neal and Ryan Schnulle of Florida.
“The best thing for Brandon is that he gets to do it all over again on Friday,” MSU coach Steve Dudley. “He didn't come here to just do good. He came here to win.”
Also for Mississippi State, Cornelia Griesche's stellar sophomore campaign came to end after finishing 18th in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:20.92. Only the top 12 advanced.
