April 09, 2014 | Softball
STARKVILLE, Miss. - As the Mississippi State softball team prepares for its annual clash with No. 3/2 Alabama on Saturday, the squad will also pay tribute to its former letterwinners with Alumni Day as part of Super Bulldog Weekend.
Seventeen former players have already confirmed their plans of attending the Alumni Day celebration, providing a collection of MSU's former greats that span from the 2001 season to last year's NCAA Tournament team. The gathering allows Mississippi State University and its fans an opportunity to honor its former student-athletes and support staff who have contributed to the success of the program.
The alumni will play a game against each other on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT at the MSU Softball Stadium prior to the football spring game, which begins at noon. Admission for the alumni game is free.
Prior to the 6 p.m. game against the Crimson Tide, the former players will be re-introduced, along with the current team, to the crowd at the MSU Softball Stadium so make sure you are in your seats early.
