NCAA Preliminary Rounds Prove Difficult For MSU On Day 1

That doesn't mean, however, the times were disappointing.
In the men's 400-meter dash, both Tavaris Tate and James Harris turned in their second-fastest times of the season. Tate ran 46.23 to place 17th, while Harris finished 23rd at 46.27.
In the 4x100m relay, the team of Justin Christian, O'Neal Wilder, Garren Hendricks and Harris crossed the finish line at 39.87, which tied for MSU's fourth-fastest time of the year.
On the women's side, Jody-Ann Muir just missed out on making the finals, as she finished ninth at 52.72. Only the top eight advance.
Rounding out the day for the women were Richesa McCaleb (11.70) in the 100m dash and Haley Greenwell (35:33.70) in the 10,000m run.
Day 2 for MSU at Drake Stadium gets underway on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. with Jessica Merriweather in the high jump. The women's 4x400m relays is slated to begin at 8 p.m., followed by the men's 4x400m relay at 8:20 p.m.
