STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – Freshman Mary Langdon Gallagher fired a career-low 2-under-par 70 in the first round of the John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate at Eagles Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Ga., on Monday. Gallagher followed her remarkable first round with a 3-over-par 75 during the second round. She currently sits in fourth place just four strokes off the leader. Gallagher was happy to find her rhythm during the first day.
“I hit the ball better today than I have in a long time,” she said. “I fell into a routine and was very comfortable throughout the whole day. I kept gaining confidence with my short game and everything else fell into place.”
Mississippi State women's golf team totaled 305 and 307 clips in rounds one and two respectively on Monday. The Lady Bulldogs own ninth in the tournament field and are only six strokes out of a top-3 finish.

Fresh off her remarkable play at the LSU Tiger Classic, sophomore Maria Roos knocked a 160 through the first two rounds while freshman Esther Huffman followed closely behind with a 161.
Coach Ginger Brown-Lemm is happy with the perfromance but still looks for improvement.
"This is one of those days that could have been great," she said. "We were lead with a very strong performance from Mary Langdon Gallagher. I am very proud of the work and preperation she did before this event, and it paid off for her. The golf course was fantastic, and the conditions were perfect. We just need to get focused on scoring."
Notre Dame sits atop the leaderboard after firing a 591 on day one. Junior Becca Huffer from Notre Dame is currently tops individually with a 3-under-par 141 through two rounds.
The Lady Bulldogs return to the links in the Peach State at 8:00 a.m. CT on Tuesday for the final round.
