
Lady Bulldogs 18th After Two Rounds Of Tiger Classic

BATON ROUGE, La. – With two rounds complete in the LSU Tiger Classic at the University Club in Baton Rouge, La., the Mississippi State women's golf team is currently in 18th place amidst its toughest tournament field yet this season.
Sophomore Maria Roos picked up the pace for MSU during the second round, firing a 3-over par 75, the best round for the lady linksters in the tournament thus far. Senior Erika Thornton finished just behind Roos with an 81 on the day, landing her tied for 61st in the tournament. Fellow senior Mallory Batson trails Thornton by just four strokes in the field after firing an 83 on Saturday.
Freshmen Esther Huffman and Mary Langdon Gallagher rounded out the field for the Lady Bulldogs in the second round with a pair of 87s.
The Lady Bulldogs return to the links in Baton Rouge with an 8:30 a.m. CT shotgun start on Sunday to complete the LSU Tiger Classic. Live stats will be available through www.MStateAthletics.com.
