MSU Women?s Golf Team Opens Up Spring Season

WESTON, Fla. - After first round action at the Sir Pizza Cards Challenge, the Mississippi State women's golf team sits in thirteenth place shooting a 318 on Sunday at the Weston Hills Golf Course in Weston, Fla.
Senior Mallory Batson carded the Lady Bulldogs' top score of the day with a 5-over-par 77 and sits tied for 23rd.
Fellow senior Erika Thornton finished one stroke behind Batson with a 78 while junior Perry Katherine Furr finished just two strokes behind Batson shooting a 79.
Sophomore Maria Roos and freshman Mary Langdon Gallagher rounded out the lady linksters first round firing an 84 and 85 respectively.
Second round action will begin at 9:30 a.m. CST on Monday, with the final round on Tuesday.
