Lady Linksters Conclude Play At Duramed Cougar Classic

STARKVILLE, Miss.. - The Mississippi State women's golf team concluded play at the Duramed Cougar Classic on Tuesday, firing a 309 in the final round to finish in 20th place with a 930.
In the final round, freshman Mary Langdon Gallagher paced MSU with a 1-over-par 73, the best round of any Lady Bulldog in the tournament. She shot a 241 for the three-round event.
Seniors Mallory Batson and Erika Thornton finished the tournament tied for the team's overall lead with a score of 233.
Freshman Esther Huffman proved the future is bright for the Lady Bulldogs, finishing her first collegiate tournament with a 235 tally. Sophomore Maria Roos finished the tournament with a 244.
“Obviously, we are very disappointed in our first tournament showing,” Brown-Lemm said. “We are nowhere near where we need to be mentally out there. We turned one poor swing into double bogeys, and at this level, it will put you at the bottom of the pack every time. However, we had several successes out there, so we know it's just a matter of practicing, confidence and course management."
The Lady Bulldog linksters return to fall action Sun., Sept. 26, at the UNCG Starmount Fall Classic in Greensboro, N.C.
