Women's Golf Enters Final Day Of Duramed Cougar Classic

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State's women's golf team fired a second-round score of 621on Monday to remain19th overall at the Duramed Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C.
Seniors Erika Thornton and Mallory Batson and freshman Esther Huffman all improved their scores from the first round. Batson fired a 3-over-par 75, which was five strokes better than her score yesterday, while Thornton shot a 76, a one-stroke improvement. Huffman bettered her opening-round score by three strokes, firing a 77.
Sophomore Maria Roos kept her pace from yesterday, knocking a 78 for. Freshman Mary Langdon Gallagher rounded out the Lady Dawgs' contingent with an 85.
Overall, the Lady Bulldogs bettered their opening-round score by nine strokes to land just outside of the top 10 for the round.
MSU tees off the final round at 7:30 a.m. CT Tuesday.
