
Rain Cancels MSU-Florida Softball Finale

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State's softball series finale against No. 5/6 Florida has been cancelled due to heavy rain showers that blanketed Starkville on Sunday.
Mississippi State sits at 26-26 overall and 7-17 in SEC play heading into the final weekend of the 2010 regular season. The Bulldogs close the campaign by hosting No. 4 Alabama May 8-9 in a three-game SEC series at the MSU Softball Field.
Sunday's finale against the Gators was scheduled to be MSU's StrikeOut Cancer game. That game will now be played as part of next Saturday's doubleheader that begins at 1 p.m. Mississippi State will recognize seniors Jessie Bailey and Chelsea Bramlett prior to Sunday's series finale that is also set for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
