STANFORD, CALIF. – Mississippi State's women's golf team knocked 13 strokes off its first-round total firing a 306 in the second round of the Pac-10/SEC Challenge at the Stanford Golf Course in Stanford, Calif.
In a tournament field that features 17 of the top 34 teams in the nation, MSU is currently tied for 20th.
Lady Bulldog senior Mallory Batson bettered her score by 10 strokes from round one to shoot a 2-over-par 73 on the day. Fellow senior Erika Thornton matched her first round score of 75 for round two.
Also cutting six strokes off her first-day total, Esther Huffman continued her stellar freshman campaign firing a 3-over-par 74 in round two.
Maria Roos and Mary Langdon Gallagher also completed the second round with scores of 84 and 88 respectively.
