
Cherry Finishes Second In USA Junior 100-Meter Dash Final

EUGENE, Ore. ? Mississippi State freshman sprinter D'Angelo Cherry finished second in the men's junior 100-meter dash final Friday, at the USA Junior Outdoor Championships, hosted by the University of Oregon.
The Jonesboro, Ga., native ran 10.07 seconds in the final just two hours after posting a personal-best 10.02 seconds in the preliminary round. Auburn's Marcus Rowland won the event running 10.02 seconds. Cherry's second-place finished has earned him a spot on the 2009 USA Junior National track and field team.
In the senior division, John Bailey finished 13th in the men's 400-meter dash semi-final running 46.42 seconds respectively to end his Bulldog track and field career.
