Harris Ends Indoor Track And Field Career At NCAA Championships Friday

COLLEGE STATION, Texas ? Mississippi State senior Marrissa Harris ended a successful indoor career for the Lady Bulldogs Friday afternoon at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Harris competed in the 60-meter hurdle preliminaries in College Station, Texas.

After a successful start to the race, Harris tripped over the second hurdle and managed to finish the race with a time of 9.22 seconds to finish 15th in the event. Michigan's Tifffany Ofili has the top time going into Sunday's final after posting a run of 8.04 seconds.

“I am still very proud of Marrissa,” assistant coach Bryan Fetzer said. “It's never good to finish your career on a bad race, but she can definitely look back on her indoor career with a pretty good feeling.”

Harris will now prepare for the outdoor season that opens March 21 at the Rhodes College Invitational in Memphis.
