Lady Bulldogs Remain 11th At SEC Championship

LOUDON, Tenn. -The Mississippi State women's golf team shot a 318 in the second round of the SEC Championship Saturday and remained in 11th place in the team standings. The Lady Bulldogs hold a 637 team score heading into Sunday's final round.
Sophomore Suzanne Stanley shot a 79 on Saturday as she is tied for 28th with a 157. Senior Julia Huh and freshman Erika Thornton are both tied for 32nd with two-round scores of 159 heading to Sunday. Freshman Mallory Batson led State in the second round with a 77 as she stands in a tie for 44th with a 162. Gina Sharp is tied for 54th with a 167.
Florida took sole lead in the team competition after a second-round 293. The Gators have a 590 team score and lead the field by five strokes. Arkansas is second followed by Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina.
Stacey Lewis of Arkansas retained her first-round lead in the individual standings after shooting a 73 on Saturday. Lewis leads the field by a stroke.
MSU will conclude play Sunday with an 8 a.m. tee time on hole #10.
