Jack Lazorko was a two-year letterwinner on the mound for Mississippi State in 1977 and 1978.
Lazorko earned First Team All-SEC and First Team ABCA All-Region honors in both of his years in the Maroon and White. Across his two seasons, he posted a 18-5 record
Lazorko was taken in the second round of the 1977 MLB Draft by the New York Yankees but ultimately decided to return to Starkville for his senior season.
In 1978, Lazorko led the SEC in wins with an 8-2 record. He posted a team-leading 2.92 ERA.
He began his professional career after being drafted in the 11th round of the 1978 MLB Draft by the Houston Astros. Lazorko made his MLB debut for Milwaukee on June 4, 1984. He played for five seasons at the major league level. Lazorko also played internationally including a two-year stint in Italy. In those two seasons, he went 37-4 and helped his team to the European championship, where he was named MVP of the Italian league.

Following his playing career, Jack served as the Director of Baseball Operations and Vice-President for the Texas-Louisiana professional baseball. He also worked with the Texas Rangers as Director of Camps while holding a broadcasting spot with the organization, as well as serving as a College Baseball analyst for Fox Sports.
