Harold W. "Doc" Wendler

Doc Wendler served as head athletic trainer at Mississippi State for ten years, spanning from 1935-43, and 1948.
On top of his duties as the head trainer, Wendler also served as the boxing coach for the 1939 and 1940 seasons, helping guide the Bulldogs to second place in the SEC Championship in 1939.
Wendler went to serve as a trainer for the Brooklyn and later Los Angeles Dodgers from 1943-1959. During his time there, the Dodgers won seven National League pennants and two World Series championships.
Wendler also served as the trainer for the Gray team in the annual Blue-Gray classic in Montgomery for 21 consecutive years.
