Harold Easterwood lettered for Mississippi State football at center for three seasons from 1952-1954.
Easterwood, a native of Eupora, Mississippi, began his journey at Mississippi State in 1950 as a freshman. He didn’t play the 1951 season due to military service but returned and excelled in his three seasons. Easterwood earned All-SEC Honors in 1953 and 1954. He also earned All-American honors in 1954, as well as being named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll. He was selected to play in the Senior Bowl.
Easterwood was drafted in the 12th round of the 1954 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. Following his playing career, Easterwood would return to Mississippi to serve as a football coach at multiple high schools throughout the state. Easterwood was inducted to the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.
Easterwood passed away on August 13, 2005.
