Logan Boss captured first team All-America honors Saturday
Boss, Flynn Garner Track All-American Honors In Oregon
June 10, 2017 | Track & Field
EUGENE, Oregon – Although Mississippi State's impressive streak of consecutive seasons with a national champion ended after a program record four-straight seasons, the 2017 campaign came to an end Saturday at the NCAA Track & Field Championships with two Bulldogs garnering All-American honors.
Both Logan Boss and Tiffany Flynn earned first team All-America honors, with Boss capturing fourth in the high jump at 1.85m while Flynn placed eighth in the triple jump at 13.31m. 2015 NCAA Champion Rhianwedd Price finished ninth in the 1500m final after running 4:15.35.
"Over the last four seasons we have set a new standard at Mississippi State," MSU coach Steve Dudley said. "We have become accustomed to our athletes winning national championships and finishing in the top 20. We do not like to see that streak come to an end. That falls on me, and we will get to work to make sure we continue to move in the right direction."
The Bulldogs, who have produced six national title winners since 2013, also saw their streak of consecutive seasons with at least one Top 20 team finish come to an end, with the men placing 26th with 10 points and the women finishing 38th with six team points.
